pretty simple really, and the weapon she picked is perfect for it. knights used to carry a slightly bigger version called a misericorde. today we call it a stiletto, a long narrow dagger/dirk that is double edged. here's one of the best ways to use it, and the technique she probably used with that awl.

tap yourself gently on the breastbone with your index, middle, and ring fingertips of your dominant hand. tap downwards slowly along the midline of your chest. hit that wiggly, icky feeling, kinda painful spot below your breastbone? ok. now with your index and middle fingers touching side by side measure below that spot by touching it with the tip of your index finger. then, you take that awl and punch it into a person's chest right there below your middle finger with a slightly upwards angle, say somewhere between 15 to 25 degrees. depending on the length of the awl, if it is at or beyond 5" long, you will penetrate the pericardium (sack around the heart) or puncture the heart itself. keep the same target point on the chest and stab at the same angle 3-5 times. blood will spurt out of the heart as it beats, filling the chest cavity around the heart, till the person:
1 bleeds to death internally or
2 the pressure of the blood around the heart will cause the heart rhythm to stutter and
the victim will basically die of a heart attack.

just like a rapier, awls are great at poking tiny holes in people. so ya gotta put those tiny holes in just the right spots. how do you practice this you may ask? CPR dummy. :> they're specifically designed with plastic and silicon structures to mimic the chest of a human. find the right spot, use a sharpie and draw yourself a target. hang the CPR dummy on a wall at the exact height of your intended victim and stabby stabby stabby... get to practicing.

Well written scenario, the motive is a little bit, I dont know "wacky". Also the golden opportunity is missed to use the older audio tracks they used for deductions and stuff. I somehow secretly hope that they will reuse the older tracks sometime at the ending of the anime.

We already had a dude murdered for trying to change his hairdresser. I think the motive in this one is almost justified in comparison.^^
But full agreement on the music. I was waiting for the saxophone solo and disappointed when it never came...

Now that I think of it, it is kinda hard to find motives for your script when you need them for 500+ difderent homicides and they portrayed almost all of the motives from real life, hatred, betreyal, love, lust, revenge etc
